National Socialist Party in Bangladesh hails war crimes trial

Dhaka, Jan 07 (ANI): Bangladesh National Socialist Party Leader, Shirin Akhter has hailed the trial of the war criminals of 1971 liberation war and urged the government to set up more courts with an aim to expedite the execution. Interacting with the reporters in Dhaka, Akhter highlighted that the government should take adequate steps to step up security in the courts. Akhter accused the Bangladeshi Nationalist Party (BNP) led by Begum Khaleda Zia for demonstrating against the trial processes. Akhter also stated that India provided support to the people of Bangladesh and helped in their liberation war. A war crimes tribunal, which was set up in 2010, requires wrapping up investigations of all those who were accused, as the government aims to finish their trials before Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s five-year term ends. She took charge of office in early 2009.
