Times Square bomb suspect charged; Bangladesh questions wife

United States Prosecutors brought federal charges against a Bangladeshi man who has been accused of using a weapon of mass destruction in Monday’s bombing of a Manhattan commuter hub. Akayed Ullah, 27, told police after the blast “I did it for the Islamic State.” Ullah began to self radicalize in 2014 when he began viewing pro-islamic state material online. Police that he was a lone-wolf, radicalized over the internet. Ullah told investigators that he built the pipe bomb in his Brooklyn home a week earlier. Ullah has a wife in Bangladesh and a six month old baby boy. Police are interviewing his wife and In-Laws. The bomb left three bystanders with minor injuries and Ullah was treated for burns and lacerations.
