Nobel Chor is a fictional account of what happened after the Nobel Medal of the great Indian Poet Rabindranath Tagore was stolen in 2004. In the movie, the lost Nobel prize is found by a poor landless farmer Bhanu (Mithun Chakraborty). He takes it to a local school teacher who advises him to sell it. Will Bhanu sell the Nobel prize to change his fortunes? Or will the farmer realize that the true value of the prize is way above the monetory value. The movie explores the relevancy of Rabindranath Tagore’s teachings and philosophy in today’s time. The film was officially selected for the BFI London Film Festival.
