The biggest cyber heist ever is widely considered to be the theft of approximately $1 billion from the Central Bank of Bangladesh in February 2016. Hackers used malware to gain access to the bank’s computer systems and then transferred funds from the bank’s account at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York to various bank accounts in the Philippines and Sri Lanka.
