Stages of a Criminal Proceedings in Bangla | Cr.PC 1898 in Bangladesh | Criminal Case Stage

Assalamualaikum to all, we all know about criminal proceedings, but we sometimes forget the stages of this proceedings.so I’m here to discuss with you the stages of a criminal proceedings of Bangladesh in Bangla under Cr.PC 1898. Whether you are a lawyer or a law student you need to know the different stages or levels of a criminal case.
This Act has 565 sections and 5 schedules. At present 463 sections and 4 schedules are in force in this Act which has been amended at different times. All criminal proceedings are regulated under the Code of criminal procedure 1898 and other criminal rules and order (CRO).
The stages during a criminal proceeding could also be divided into 4 periods:—
1) Pre- proceeding stage.
2) Proceeding stage.
3) Trial stage.
4) Post – trial stage.
Pre- proceeding stage includes the following steps:
FIR (First Information Report);
Complaint in case of cognizable and non-cognizable offence
Reporting to the Magistrate
Investigation
Charge Sheet or Final Report
Naraji Petition
Proceeding Stage includes the following steps:
Taking Cognizance
Start of a Criminal Proceeding
Trial Stage includes the following steps:
Framing of Charge
Plea & Conviction
Taking Evidence/Examination Etc.
Judgment
Criminal Cases are tried before the Judicial Magistrate or the Session Judge court as per their nature and procedure.
1. Trial by Magistrate Court:
Section 241A of CrPC: When Accused shall be discharged.
Section 242 of CrPC: Charge to be framed.
Section 243 of CrPC: Plea and Conviction
Section 244 of CrPC: Procedure when no such Admission is made.
Section 245 of CrPC: Acquittal or Sentence
2. Trial by Court of Session:
Section 265B of CrPC: Opening Case for Prosecution
Section 265C of CrPC: Discharge
Section 265D of CrPC: Framing Charge
Section 265E of CrPC: Conviction of Plea of Guilty
Section 265F of CrPC: Date for Prosecution Evidence
Section 265G of CrPC: Evidence of Prosecution
Section 265H of CrPC: Acquittal
Section 265I of CrPC: Defence Evidence
Section 265K of CrPC: Judgment of Acquittal or Conviction
Post-Trial Stage includes the following Step:
Execution of Sentence
