হঠাৎ কি কারণে গার্মেন্টস অর্ডার বাতিল হয়ে যাচ্ছে?

সম্প্রতি বাংলাদেশের তৈরী পোষাক প্রস্তুতকারকদের সংগঠন বিজিএমইএ দাবি করছে যে আন্তর্জাতিক ক্রেতারা তাদের অর্ডারকৃত পণ্য এখন নিতে চাচ্ছে না, কেউ কেউ অর্ডার পরে নিবে বলছে আবার কেউ কেউ অর্ডারই বাতিল করে দিচ্ছে। কিন্তু বাংলাদেশের গার্মেন্টস এর সবচেয়ে বড় বাজার ইউরোপে ২০২২ সালের প্রথম দশ মাসে গার্মেন্টস রপ্তানি ৪২ শতাংশ বেড়েছে এবং ২০২২ সালের প্রথম নয় মাসে আমেরিকায় গার্মেন্টস রপ্তানি বেড়েছে ৫৩ শতাংশ। তাহলে হচ্ছেটা কি? অর্ডার কেনো বাতিল হয়ে যাচ্ছে? সমস্যাটা কোথায়?গার্মেন্টস প্রস্তুতকারকরা কি বলছে, এর সমাধান কি? আজকের স্ট্রেইট ফ্রম স্টার নিউজরুমে এ বিষয়গুলো নিয়ে আলোচনা করেছেন খন্দকার মোঃ শোয়েব এবং ডেইলি স্টারের রিপোর্টার রেফায়েত উল্লাহ্‌ মীরধা।

প্রশ্নঃ আন্তর্জাতিক অঙ্গনে তো পণ্য পরিবহনের জন্য জাহাজের ভাড়া অনেক কমে সেই করোনাভাইরাস শুরুর আগের লেভেলে নেমে এসেছে। এর দ্বারা কি গার্মেন্টস ব্যাবসায়ীরা উপকৃত হচ্ছে না?
প্রশ্নঃ গ্যাস, বিদ্যুৎ এর দাম বেড়ে গেলো, অর্ডার বাতিল হয়ে যাচ্ছে আবার পণ্য পরিবহনের ভাড়া কমে গেলো। তাহলে এখন সেক্টরের অবস্থা কি? সামনে কি সুদিন আসছে সেক্টরের নাকি দুর্দিন?

Bangladesh’s garment makers’ platform BGMEA has recently said the international buyers are cancelling or putting on hold work orders. But we know that garment exports to Europe, Bangladesh’s biggest export destination, rose 42 per cent year-on-year in the January-October period of 2022 and to the USA it posted a 53 per cent year-on-year rise in the first nine months of 2022. Then, why are garment export orders getting cancelled? Where is the problem? What are the garment exporters saying about its solution?
