Hartlands’ Farmers Hopeful for Land Leases
A group of St Catherine farmers are heaping praise on the sugar company of Jamaica for their intervention in a longstanding rift over land leases. The controversy began after several of the farmers who were once sugar workers, began occupying sections of Hartlands for planting seasonal crops.

FLA To Revoke Lapsed Firearm Licenses
The Firearm Licensing Authority (FLA) will be penalizing firearm holders with outdated licenses, from 5-million-dollar fines to 5 years imprisonment. As they lament their tireless efforts to contact persons whose licenses have lapsed, they saw they will be taking action.
SSP. Ricketts: St Andrew South Division Has Most Gangs In Jamaica
Commanding officer for the St Andrew South Police Division, Senior Superintendent Kirk Ricketts says there are over 70 gangs across communities in the division, 40 of which are currently active. Ricketts stresses the importance of education to escape the cycle of gang involvement.

JLP Chairman, Robert Montague is calling for law abiding Jamaicans to be granted visa free access to the United Kingdom, United States and Canada. He reiterated his stance on the matter at the party’s 79th Conference at the National Arena, sending supporters into a frenzy.
