ফুটবল বিশ্বকাপে নেই বাংলাদেশ। তবে, বাংলাদেশে ফুটবল ভক্তদের উন্মাদনায় কোনো কমতি নেই। রাজধানীর গুলিস্তানের স্টেডিয়ামপাড়া বিভিন্ন দেশের পতাকা ও জার্সির রঙে সেজে উঠেছে। প্রিয় দলের পতাকা কিনতে চলছে দরদাম, প্রিয়জনের জন্য জার্সি কিনতে ভিড় করছেন ক্রেতারা।

Despite Bangladesh not taking part in the FIFA World Cup, it has never had a dulling effect on fans who go out of their way to ride the World Cup wave. The capital’s Gulistan area, which is the sports hub of Dhaka, caters to sports needs year-round but the arrival of the World Cup manages to put on that added buzz which drums up the excitement as vendors stockpile vibrant flags and colourful jerseys in the stadium area. Fans crowd stores for their favourite jerseys, while enthusiasts sportingly haggle for flags of their favoured teams.
