Synopsis:::
‘Mamata’ is the story of the struggles and hardships that Mamata goes through in her life. Rajiv, a thief finds Mamata sick and abandoned in her house when he goes to her house to steal. He gets her treated and takes her to his home. They get married and Rajiv takes Mamata to his native village. Rajiv’s sister-in-law Jayanti gets jealous of Mamata when her mother-in-law hands the keys of the house to Mamata. Rajiv gets arrested for thefts and is jailed. Jayanti conspires against Mamata and throws her out of the house. Mamata starts living a poverty ridden life with her son Sudip. Rajiv starts his life afresh after being released from jail. He knocks down Sudip with his car one day and finally the events lead him to Mamata. In the meanwhile Jayanti’s conspiracies are revealed and the family is re-united.
