বাহারের পাড়ার রাস্তার মোড়ে তার একটি মুদির দোকান আছে। বাহার সর্দার প্রতি দিনের মতো দোকানে এসে পানি ছিটিয়ে দোকান খুলে। কিছুক্ষণ পর বন্ধু জহির আসে, সাথে আরো লোকজন। বাহারের কাছে চা চায়। বাহার চা দিলে জহির তাচ্ছিল্য করে বলে“,এতো ঠান্ডা চা খাওয়া যায়”। চা নিয়ে দুই এক কথায় বাহার রেগে জহিরের সাথে বাজি ধরে, “তোর কাছে যহন এতোই ঠান্ডা লাগতেছে, দেহি কত পারিস এক চুমুকে খাতো”। জহিরও বলে বসে“ যদি এক চুমুকে খাতি পারি কি দিবি?” জবাবে বাহার বলে বসে “খাড়ার উপর আমার এই দোকানডাই তোর দিয়ে দেব চলে যাবো”। উপস্থিত সবার সাক্ষী রেখে জহির সঙ্গে সঙ্গে এক চুমুকে চা খেতে শুরু করে…
