The Bengali Genocide – Short History Documentary

On the 26th of March 1971, the Pakistan Government launched Operation Searchlight, beginning a military crackdown in East Pakistan, what is today Bangladesh. The aim of the operation was to stifle Bengali attempts to form their own state and see the deployment of genocidal tactics to reach this goal. Estimates range as to the death toll, with the higher end being up to 3 million dead, and tens of millions displaced by the violence.
