Synopsis:::
Mohini is a social drama that is based on the depiction of modern day society’s viewpoint on rape. It is primarily based on the love story of a painter, Ramen Bose and dramatist, Mohini and their common life and the revenge of a girl wronged. The movie runs through many layers as it shows the levels of poverty in society, the tainted situation of politics in the country, the hard life of the common man, the prejudiced and narrow-minded mentality of people among others and the evils of rape and promiscuity. It shows the emotional turmoil of Mohini as she is raped and her lover Ramen is brutally hurt and killed. There are many other strong characters, like the good characters of Mohini, the old rickshaw puller and his undercover son and the evil characters of Bhanu, Madan, and the rest, who all add to the depth of the storyline. It shows the pains Mohini goes through when she is abused and what it lengths good people go to when they are wronged, to seek justice for herself and Ramen.
