Beautiful Bangladesh – restoring tea gardens and tropical forests

By any measure, Bangladesh is among the most vulnerable countries to unprecedented change that is punctuated by severely degraded agricultural and forest systems. Yet, despite the siren song, the biology of its essential agriculture and forest systems is quite frankly nearly entirely unknown.

In the years from 2016-to 2018, Md Abdul Halim and I crowdfunded research dollars to spur a plethora of scientific study with the local University (SUST) of the natural ecology and the systems and to investigate applications of remedies to combat soil degradation and enhance resilience to climate change.

This is a compiled video of those systems, the students that ushered in a new era of scientific exploration and where dreams came true.
