Bangladesh – Week 6: China Clay Hills & half way point!!!

This week means it was officially the halfway point for us during our volunteering placement and it’s scary to see just how quickly time goes!

On Wednesday 21st February, the flags were raised to mark International Mother Language Day – Bangladesh being the 1st country to fight to protect their language/mother tongue. We were lucky enough to mark this day by visiting the China Clay Hills with an interesting stop off on the way at a YMCA funded school. It was so amazing to explore a different area of Bangladesh, however these videos never capture the beauty of this country. It is so overlooked by many travellers visiting Asia, but has the most amazing scenery and the most kind hearted people.

This week was very much routine and was a bit of a struggle, i found, as we felt so limited in what we could do on our day off/down time after we had completed planning/delivering the workshops. Our group is such a good mix of character and ability, which we definitely feel we want to utilise in other ways by visiting and helping out in other schools/communities which maybe need help with English lessons, making resources or just taking the time to listen to what they really need.

Thanks again,
Anya xxx
