Armed police on rollerblades – Pakistan's new weapon against crime

Everyone wants their police force to have a balanced approach. Pity then the law-abiding citizens of Karachi in Pakistan whose latest police unit looks anything but.

A crack team of 20 armed officers is being deployed on rollerblades. Yes, armed. And judging by their performance in the publicity video, you really hope they’ve kept their safety catches on.

To be fair, one of the officers does show off some slick moves, leaping and sliding down steps to apprehend felons.

However, this doesn’t address the issue of criminals who are smart enough to run up the steps.
