On Camera, Man Accused Of Sacrilege Attempt At Golden Temple Beaten To Death

A youth was allegedly beaten to death by an enraged sangat and sewadars at Amritsar’s Golden Temple on Saturday after he barged into the sanctum sanctorum of the shrine during the recital of ‘Rehras Sahib’. He stepped on the ‘Rumala Sahib’ and picked up the sword placed in front of the ‘Saroop’ of Sri Guru Granth Sahb. The whole incident was caught on CCTV camera. As per reports, he was immediately overpowered and was brought outside and on the way, he was beaten by the sangat following which he succumbed to his injuries. Police officials said his body was sent to the mortuary and an autopsy would be conducted on Sunday.
