Intl Nonviolence condemns assassination of Rohingya leader in Bangladesh, demands investigation

The International Non-violence Organization, Free Muslim, has expressed its condemnation and denunciation of the blatant crime committed against the Rohingya leader in Bangladesh, calling on the international body of the United Nations to investigate and reveal the circumstances of this crime and those behind it.
A statement by the organization, received by Shia Waves Agency, stated that “the militants killed Mohibullah, who is one of the most prominent leaders of the Rohingya Muslims, and heads the Peace and Human Rights Association of the Arakan Rohingya, in Bangladesh. He was a well-known defender of the persecuted Rohingya minority.”
It added that the crime was politically motivated, calling for a transparent international investigation capable of revealing the truth.
The organization pointed out that the Rohingya Muslim minority suffers from repression and abuse by the authorities in Myanmar and authoritarian policies, and human rights defenders and activists are exposed to campaigns of repression, killing and disappearance on a continuous basis.
