Nehlata ‘Reshmi’ (Sridevi) suffers a severe head injury which results in her regressing to childhood. Apparently, she is not able to remember her address. Escaping the hospital where she’s admitted for treatment, she ends up in a brothel. A lonely school teacher Somu (Kamal Haasan) rescues her from the brothel and provides her shelter at his home. Meanwhile, Reshmi’s parents and the police desperately search for her. Somu tends to Reshmi and cares for her like a child until her family discovers her location. Eventually, Reshmi gains her memory, but fails to remember the man who saved her. Her inability to recognise him, leaves Somu devastated as he had fallen in love with her. Would Reshmi ever remember Somu?
