A woman cried and stomped her feet as she walked through a Parkway Gardens apartment complex early Sunday.

“(Expletive) monsters,” she yelled out. “Monsters! Monsters!”

Across the street from where the woman was walking, 23-year-old Antron Young had been SHOT IN THE FACE about 3:10 a.m. Sunday while inside a restaurant in the 6300 block of South King Drive, Chicago police said.

Officers found Young after responding to a call of shots fired in the area. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other men were shot in the same incident. The men, ages 22 and 24, both suffered gunshot wounds to the lower part of the body, and had their conditions stabilized after they went to St. Bernard Hospital on their own, authorities said.

Young was in the restaurant when two people came in and started firing shots, police said.

Detectives examined the inside of Sammy’s Grill and Restaurant, placing evidence markers on the ground. Two workers could be seen from the outside of the restaurant.

Down the street, a group of family members gathered in the parking lot of a shopping center. A woman could be heard screaming as she cried. A man repeatedly yelled profanities.
