11 kms away from Bogura, Bangladesh we found one of the favorite archeological sites in Bangladesh.
Behula Lakshindar or Behula Bashor Ghar is thought to be the honeymoon palace of a beloved legendary couple, Lakshidar and Behula.
The myth surrounding this place is very similar to the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, of love conquering death.
The construction has a unique form, said to be built like this to prevent snakes from crawling all the way to the top, where the couple’s room was said to be.
Many people come here to see the unique mythical location for themselves and celebrate love.
We are in Bangladesh to explore the Bangladesh culture, Bengali food, blend with the Bangladesh people and see how life is in the Bay of Bengal. Bangladesh has welcomed us for the past 3 months and we are in love with this colorful country!
