The Dhaka Metro Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), crafted by the Dhaka Mass Transit Company (DMTC), is reshaping public transport to foster economic and social development in the greater Dhaka area, combating traffic congestion and pollution. The ambitious project envisions six lines – MRT Lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

MRT Line 6, the trailblazer in this initiative, spans 16 stations with a distance of 20.01 kilometers from Uttara Diabari to Motijheel, with an estimated cost of $2.82 billion. Step inside the metro coach with two rows of spacious green seats, handles, and poles for standing passengers. Each metro rail accommodates up to 2,000 passengers, boasting four doors on both sides and a smart card and ticketing system for seamless fare payment.

Bangladesh Metro Line 6 has 16 beautiful stations with all modern facilities at Uttara North, Uttara Center, Uttara South, Pallabi, Mirpur, Mirpur 10, Kazipara, Shewrapara, Agargaon, Bijoy Sarani, Farmgate, Karwan Bazar, Shahbag, Dhaka University, Bangladesh Secretariat, and Motijheel.

The authority allocated four trains from Motijheel to Uttara from 11.40 am to 12.12 pm for MRT and Rapid Pass users. The minimum ticket price of the metro rail for Line 6 is fixed at ৳20, and the fare is fixed at ৳5 per km. (The price may change as per government order).
