About the Film:
Mujib – The Making of a Nation, a biographical film about Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, documents the journey of one of modern history’s greatest leaders. As Bangladesh’s first President, he was popularly known as Bangabandhu, which means ‘Friend of Bengal,’ and is regarded as a towering figure who played a significant role in determining the fate of his country, Bangladesh.
A battle fought on many levels – culture, politics, language and ideology. The creation of Bangladesh is the pinnacle of Bangabandhu’s achievement. Yet, like in classical Greek drama, this triumph ends in personal tragedy; Mujib, along with fourteen members of his family, is martyred – a sacrifice paid in blood for creating a free nation for his people.
