Baaghi 2 (transl. Rebel 2) is a 2018 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner.[1] Based on the Telugu film Kshanam, and serving as the second installment in the titular film series, it stars Tiger Shroff as the titular protagonist with Disha Patani in the lead role and is the first spiritual sequel to the 2016 film Baaghi, originally distributed by UTV Motion Pictures, which was replaced by Fox Star Studios as distributor and co-producer, with Patani replacing Shraddha Kapoor as the female lead.[4][5] Manoj Bajpayee, Darshan Kumar and Prateik Babbar were cast as the antagonists.

Baaghi 2 follows the life of Ranveer “Ronnie” Pratap Singh, an Indian Army officer who sets out to find and rescue his ex-girlfriend’s three year old daughter from the clutches of her kidnappers in Goa.[6] Principal photography commenced for the film in August 2017, and it was shot in Mumbai, Pune, Shanghai, Goa, China, Manali and Thailand. The film was finished with a budget of ₹590 million (US$8.3 million), including print and promotion costs.

Baaghi 2 was released worldwide on 30 March 2018 including 3500 screens in India.[1] Although the action sequences and the cast performances received praise, the film was criticized for its inconsistent script and direction. The film grossed over ₹2.53 billion (US$35 million) worldwide to become the third highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2018.[7]

A second spiritual sequel, Baaghi 3, based on the Tamil film Vettai, was released on 6 March 2020. Nadiadwala, Khan and Shroff returned for the film, with Kapoor reassuming the female lead role, and Patani in a special song appearance.
