We investigated the murky world of human smuggling after a family of four from India, including a toddler, froze to death earlier this year trying to cross from Manitoba into Minnesota. Our documentary reveals a convicted fraudster — who had been under surveillance by U.S. Homeland Security for years — is being investigated in connection with the family’s death, raising questions about whether more could have been done to save the family.
