The Minister of Justice and Correctional Services has criticised the International Criminal Court’s slow-moving investigation into the situation in the occupied Palestinian Territories. Ronald Lamola has addressed the 22nd session of the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute of the ICC, currently meeting in New York. He used the opportunity to draw a sharp contrast in the speed of investigations into the Ukraine conflict, which has already resulted in two indictments, while the Palestinian investigation remains pending. Palestine first asked the court in 2018 to investigate what it called Israeli crimes in the occupied territories.
