This international symposium highlighted the atrocities committed by the Pakistan military against the Bengalis in 1971 and its importance in recognising the killings of an estimated three million Bengalis as “Genocide” by the international community, particularly the United Nations.
The event was organised by UCL Humanitarian Institute in collaboration with the Bangladesh High Commission in London and the Centre for Genocide Studies at the University of Dhaka on 25 October 2022.
H.E. Mr. Md. Shahriar Alam, MP, State Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, People’s Republic of Bangladesh, graced the event as Chief Guest.
