Teler pitha/ Vaja Pitha is very famous in Bengal. Bengali Teler Pitha Recipe, step by step I will show you today. Teller pitha or vaja pitha recipe is very easy and quick recipe. It is very delicious and popular recipe in Bengal. Most of the Bengali people make this recipe in the occasion called “Poush Parbon”. But this is very common pitha recipe in West Bengal and Bangladesh. I share this recipe with you all and I think you all love. I will try to explain all the things what ever I know about this recipe. From childhood I see this recipe how to make teler pitha. I learned this recipe from my mother.

Ingredients for Teler Pitha:
Rice 250 grams. Soaked it for 10 hours.
Jaggery 200 grams
Sunflower oil/ Mustard Oil
Salt to taste

How to make Teler Pitha?
First I will make the paste of soaked rice in Mixer and Grinder. Take half cup of water and grind it. Make a nice batter. You can use rice flour or Maida.
Take it out in a bowl.
Now take a bowl and add Jaggery.
Add ½ cup water
Now switch on the gas and stir it. Make the Jaggery like liquid.
Add it in the rice batter. Be sure, you filter it through the strainer and use the hot Jaggery.
Add salt to taste.
Mix it well with a spoon. Make it for 5 minutes and knead well. There should not be any lumps.
The batter should be thick.
Heat the pan and pour sufficient oil.
When the oil is hot enough, take a round spoon or bowl full batter and drop it carefully into the hot oil.
If oil is heated perfectly then batter will remain in the bottom for few seconds and then puffs up. When it puffs up flip the side and fry. Make it little brown color.
I used Jaggery that’s why it is brownish color. If you use sugar then it will be white.
Now remove it from the oil.
Teler pitha is ready and serve it hot.
