Synopsis:::
‘Jeevan Pradip’ is the story of Anita’s struggle for existence. Anita is a village girl living a poverty ridden life with her sister Sunita. She loves Manik. Sunita commits suicide when Shom Shankar rapes her. Manik helps Anita escape from home when he finds out Shom Shankar’s evil intentions. Manik is held captive. Anita escapes to Kolkata and seeks shelter at Sunita’s friend Mili’s house. But, she escapes from there when she learns that Mili wants to get her into flesh trade. She eventually gets shelter at Shankar’s house and then at Binay’s house but her ill-fate forces her to leave their shelter. Finally she gets shelter at Mr. Gomez’s house. Mr. Gomez treats her as his daughter Sweetie as she resembles her. She starts singing in a hotel. But her joys are short lived as she gets kidnapped by Mili and Mr. Choudhury. But Manik and Shankar rescue her on time and the villains are arrested. Manik and Anita are re-united.
