Goa police has revealed that foreigners are using forged documents to procure sim cards. Director General of Police Muktesh Chander said that foreigners are amongst those using fake documents and they are involved in drug cases. Police has instructed cellular companies to strictly follow Know Your Customer norms. The DGP said that due to some agencies not following proper procedures while distributing SIM cards, criminals easily obtain cards and misuse it for criminal purposes. He further said that no complaints have been lodged but these cases are based on investigation into various cases.
