মহামারির সময়ে অর্থনৈতিক মন্দার অজুহাতে কিছু ব্যাংক তাদের কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীদের বেতন কমিয়েছে। কিন্তু বেতন কমানোর এই তালিকায় এমন কিছু ব্যাংক আছে যারা মুনাফা করেছে। কর্মীদের বেতন কমিয়ে সেখানে বাড়ানো হয়েছে শীর্ষ কর্মকর্তাদের বেতন।

শীর্ষ কর্মকর্তাদের বিপরীতে সাধারণ কর্মীদের প্রতি এমন বৈষম্য কেন? ব্যাংকগুলো কি আসলেই বেতন কমিয়ে দেওয়ার মতো পরিস্থিতিতে আছে? এক্ষেত্রে ব্যাংকগুলো কোনো অনিয়ম করছে কি না তা কি খতিয়ে দেখা হচ্ছে?

Salary payment during pandemic: Why such discrimination between bank employees and top officials?

During the pandemic, some banks cut the pay of its officials and workers on the basis of “economic downturn”. However, some of the banks on the salary cut list have seen their senior executives’ pay increase during the same time. The earnings of the two banks on this list, like that of many of the country’s banks, climbed last year.

Why is there such a discrepancy between ordinary employees and top officials? Are those banks under investigation for any wrongdoing?
