I had the pleasure of flying with Biman Bangladesh from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to Dhaka, Bangladesh. The flight was booked in economy class, and I successfully bid for an upgrade into business class for 65 USD.
My experience with Biman Bangladesh was mixed. The in-airport experience is mediocre, with no special check-in or boarding lanes for business class passengers. Biman contracts the Plaza Premium lounge in Riyadh (RUH), which was wonderful!
The interior of the 3 month old Dreamliner (S2-AJV) was ok, but the seat was not very clean (rubbish from previous passengers, food pieces on IED, dust on surfaces). The service was overall quite good, as was the food.
My flight from Riyadh to Dhaka was part of a journey with onward leg to Singapore (not part of this video). Having a stopover in Dhaka, Biman Bangladesh gave me a complimentary hotel and transportation, which was a pleasant surprise.
Overall I had a mixed impression of Biman Bangladesh – it is not the best, and it is certainly not the worst. I would happily fly with them again, and paying for an upgrade in a 787 business class is well worth the 65 USD.
