A mammography procedure uses low-dose x- rays to view and detect changes in breast tissue. This 3D medical animation provides an anatomical overview of a woman’s breast and demonstrates the steps involved in obtaining a mammogram. Each breast is placed between two specialized plates, which then compress to flatten the breast. An x-ray camera then captures pictures of the glandular tissue and ducts, fat, connective tissue, and blood vessels inside the breast.
