Synopsis::
Biraj Bou’ is the story of Biraj and the adversities she goes through for her family. Nilambar and Pitambar are two brothers. Biraj is married to Nilambar. Nilambar is a kind and generous soul who doesn’t care for money. His joy lies in helping people. But, his brother Pitambar dislikes the way his elder brother wastes money. Pitu decides to separate from his brother and divide the property as he doesn’t want to share the responsibility of their sister Puti’s dowry. Nilu borrows money for his sister’s well-being and is debt ridden. Rajen, the landlord comes to the village at this time. He sets his evil eye on Biraj but she rejects his advances. But, the rumors of the people, pangs of poverty make Nilu lose his temper temporarily and Biraj leaves home and attempts suicide. Pitu understands his mistakes and apologizes to his elder brother. But he too dies of snake bite. Everybody thinks Biraj is dead. Nilu is heartbroken. Puti and her husband Jatin take Nilu out for a change and on the way he accidentally meets Biraj who has lost her eyesight. Both of them were in search of peace and finally find solace in each others’ arms.
