জায়গাটার নাম বিছানাকান্দি। সিলেটের আঞ্চলিক ভাষায় বিস্নাকান্দি। অনেকদিন থেকেই যাব যাব করছিলাম। হাসান মোর্শেদ ভাইয়ের ব্লগ পড়েই মনে হয়েছিল জায়গাটায় যেতে হবে। বিছিয়ে রাখা সুন্দর জায়গা! এবারের ঘোর বর্ষায় বিছাকান্দির উদ্দেশে রওনা দিলাম আমরা চারজন। আমি, জুবের, শিরিন আর অর্পিতা।

আর সিলেট যাব কিন্তু বন্ধু লিঙ্কন এর বাংলো বাড়ী ‘শান্তিবাড়ি’ যাব না! এটা কি হয়? সিলেটগামী কালনি এক্সপ্রেস করল ২ ঘন্টা লেট। শ্রীমঙ্গল পৌছাতে পৌছাতে রাত ১২.৩০। স্টেশন থেকে লিঙ্কন এর গাড়িতে করে সোজা চলে গেলাম ‘শান্তিবাড়ী’। জায়গাটাকে একদম নিজের বাড়ীর মত লাগে।

লিঙ্কনের মায়াবি আতিথেয়তা, মজার মজার খাবার আর ভ্রমণ জনিত ক্লান্তির কারণে রাতের খাবারের পরই চোখে চলে আসল রুপকথার রাজ্যের ঘুম। ভোরে রওনা দিলাম সিলেটের উদ্দেশে। সিলেট বাস স্টপেজে নেমেই সিএনজি চালিত অটোরিস্কা নিলাম বিছাকান্দির উদ্দেশে।

সিলেট থেকে গোয়াইন ঘাট- হাদার বাজার হয়ে যেতে হয় বিছানাকান্দি। গোয়াইনঘাট পর্যন্ত আসলাম হাওর অঞ্চলের চোখ জুড়ানো দৃশ্য দেখতে দেখতে। গোয়াইনঘাট এর পর থেকে শুরু হয় প্রচণ্ড রকমের খারাপ রাস্তা। কোথাও উচু-কোথাও নীচু। কিন্তু রাস্তা বাঁক নিতেই দৃশ্যপট পাল্টায়।

দূর থেকে দেখা যায় মেঘে ঢাকা মেঘালয় পাহাড়। পাহাড়ের মধ্যে দূর থেকে দেখা যায় মায়াবতী ঝর্না। দেখে মনে হয় ভ্যানগগ বা রেমব্রান্ট এর আকা কোন শিল্পকর্ম।
আকাঁবাকা পথ যেন আর শেষ হয় না। কানে বাজে রবার্ট ফ্রস্টের “But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep” ।
isanakandi is situated at Bangladesh-India border in Sylhet. It is a landscape beauty among gardens and hills. Bichanakandi is a village situated in Rustompur Union under Guainghat Upazilla. This is where many layers of the Khasi mountain meet at a single point from both sides. Flowing from above is a high fall. Adding to its charm are dark clouds hugging the mountain in the rainy season. And flowing underneath towards Bholaganj is a branch of the Piyain. Along the stream flowing from high up in the mountain come huge boulders that are deposited and mined in Bisanakandi.

Much like Jaflong, Bichnakandi is mostly a quarry. Winter is not a suitable time to visit Bisnakandi due to mechanized mining and stone-laden boats and lorries. The absence of such nuisance makes the rainy season the perfect time to visit the beautiful Bisanakandi that coalesces the charms of high mountains, sinuous rivers, graceful falls and dancing clouds.

How to go
It is located 25 kilometers North of Sylhet City in Gowainghat Upazila. There is more than one way to go to Bisnakandi. Tourists can use the Sylhet-Guainghat Road via the airport and take a left turn to reach Hadarpar from where a local boat may be hired to arrive at Bisnakandi. Visitors can go to Hadarpar by CNG-run auto-rickshaws, which are available for hire at Amberkhana Point in Sylhet city.

An alternative would be to go to Pangthumai first, and then hire a boat near Borhill Fall and ride along the branch of the Piyan which flows west towards Bisnakandi. The boat ride, which takes a little over an hour, on the sinuous river with lush green mountains on both sides is an unforgettable experience.

It is located 315 km away from Dhaka. Bisanakandi is 25 km away from Sylhet. You can take bus or CNG auto-rickshaw heading towards Sylhet-Gowainghat highway. At first you need to head to Sylhet from Dhaka.
