TRAVEL COASTAL RIVER 'SHIB BARIA' IN BANGLADESH | সুন্দর এক নদী ‘শিববাড়িয়া’

Shib Baria river is one of the beautiful coastal rivers of Bangladesh flowing in Kalapara upazila of Patuakhali district. Shib Baria river is also known as Khapravanga Doan. It originates and ends at the same Kalapara upazila. The length of this river is about 18 km. Lastly it falls into the Bay of Bengal through Andharmanik sea estuary. It has drainage availability with low and ebb tidal effect round the year. Shib Baria river serves as a safe harbour for fishermen who take shelter in Mahipur and Alipur Fish Ports of Patuakhali during adverse weather. This river is very important for transportation and livelihood of the local inhabitants. They mostly depend on fishing in this river which is their sole source of earning. In the winter season, cruise on river Shib Baria is very enjoyable for travellers.
